I just had coffee with my daughter, and I have never felt so old. At two different points during the conversation, I asked, “What’s that?” My 10-year-old’s teaching moment: (1) fanny packs are back in style, but they are now referred to as “belt bags;” and (2) someone named Mr. Beast is a millionaire You Tuber, who gives money to those in need. Hm. Didn’t know these very compelling facts. Now I’m the wiser! I may have to do a deep closet dive and extract that old fanny pack-arooney!

As we drove home from breakfast, we listened to Forest Black’s “If You Love Her” song. I started imagining ice skating to it, and how pretty it would be to watch couples’ skating with that song. Any figure skating competitors out there reading? You can take this idea. I used to skate when I was younger, and when I got to the point of competitions, where I’d have to choose the early morning rink over friend sleepovers, I went with the latter. I feel like that may have been a bad call…Why is it that when we are young we try so many amazing things, and we end up quitting 90 percent of them? As an adult, how many of us have piano lessons and pick-up basketball after work?

I feel like men do more of these things than women. I often lament that when I get together with women, we just eat and drink and talk, while men play sports (like golf or basketball) and then they hang out. Ladies, what else can we do?
The book sales are going extremely well! BUT, I really need more reach across the country beyond my own networks! Help! Hehehe. If you need a spicy, funny, romance beach read, check out Friends with Boats, by me!
