Keeping Up or Letting it Go?

Why is it so exasperating trying to look and feel good?

I take stock of those around me, and most everyone I know is doing something to improve their physiques and to glamorize their looks. Can’t we all just, like, CHILLAX and just let it go? Be like Elsa, from Frozen and let it go?

Well, no, we can’t.

Know why? Because if we let it–or ourselves–go, then we get judged or excluded, not hired, not dated. Looks are crucial and valued these days, more so, it seems, than ever before. I mean, I have so many friends with botox and fillers, who are also on weight loss drugs and who work out daily. They are eating salads galore, grilled chicken like it’s no one’s biz. They get their hair done, their nails done, and they have trainers and meal plans.

What in the actual F? She can’t put the baby down first?

How can we keep up, we wonder, but we do. We must! We must, we must, we must increase our busts… #areyoutheregoditsmemargaret.

Today, I had nonfat yogurt and berries for breakfast, a salad with grilled chicken (okay, and some feta cheese, so shoot me) for lunch, and now some water and 2 chocolate-covered pretzels ( mini ones- Flipz). I think that’s all I can have today if I want to in the caloric restriction lane, and it’s only 1:30 pm.

Harumph.

I’ve given up on gel manicures, because now apparently the light causes cancer. Is there anything that is not carcinogenic besides spinach and kale? Things I like = bad for me: coffee, alcohol, potato chips, deli meat. DELI MEAT!

Pure evil

What else are you all doing to keep up??
